You have a Wing Hunter ??? I am 100% jealous. That's very cool. I'm a Howard Hill longbow guy...or my OLD bear kodiak magnum. My shoulder is almost 100% so i can start pulling the longbow again.

I used to have a Bear Grizzly 45 lbs recurve bow that I lost somewhere along the way. I left it on the farm when I got stationed to AK while in the Air Force and that's the last I remember seeing it.
I picked up this Wing from an ex service buddy when he mustered out and it has pretty much sat in the rack for the last 45 years. The cool thing about laminated glass bows is they pretty much never wear out but these all wood bows do after awhile,I'm told.

The Wing is pretty quick too with these rather heavy 500 grain carbon arrows at 165 mph. I bet it would really zip a 400 grain or lighter target arrow! But then speed ain't everything as the more experience guys point out!

I only have one bow left that has held up for many years. I got this bow when Carolyn and I got Married some 54 years ago and it has filled the freezer with deer just about all those years.
It's a 63" Browning Apollo.

It's marked 43# but on my scale when I checked it it was 46 at 28" and 49 at 30" I draw 29" That arrow on the bow is 30" and I shoot instinctive fast draw and let it go and that point hits my finger.
I think the wood is Brazilian rose wood but I'm not sure. I would like to have a gun stock mad with it.

I was out shooting all three tonight. Here they are strung up. The all Hickory bow has quite a bit more set than does the laminated bow I just finished. The new bow is quieter but has quite a bit more hand shock than does the other two I noticed tonight. Wonder what causes that? The lengths are top to bottom 58,60 and 66 inches.

The beginning of Grand daughters bow ! I decided on another Hickory backed, Ipe belly, laminated Pyramid bow but this one will bend through the handle so I can make it shorter for her. I'm, going to use moose antler again for string tip shields and arrow rest as they are working really well on the last bow made.
The glue will be cured tomorrow so I can start roughing it out'
