Back Issues of the Black Powder Cartridge News

Post by Todd Birch »

Whenever I'm working on a particular problem or acquire a new rifle in a calibre I'm unfamiliar with, I go through my back copies of the BPCN.

Periodically, BPCN publishes a list of their back issues and the articles in them. If you contact them, Sheryll Garbe promptly photocopies the issue or article and mails it to you.

Shooters are often asking questions on the forum on topics that have been well covered by knowledgeable shooters in the BPCN. It is a great resource for info from shooters who have been there - done that.

For example an article in the Spring 2003 issue by Dan Phariss delves into the question of calibre suitability depending upon use - hunting or target. New shooters agonizing over what to order in a Sharps rifle ought to read his comments.

There isn't a topic discussed on this forum that the BPCN doesn't cover.
