Swiss Powder & Texas
We're on vacation down on South Padre Island. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place I could pickup some Swiss 1 1/2 powder around here anywhere? Used to live in Brownsville, have family here.
Thanks
Thanks

Speaking on this Topic:
I live North of Dallas, Texas. Where/Who is the best Goex powder distributor in this area? It seems locally that the City Councils allow white powder to be sold, but for whatever reason have a "Thing" against Black Powder. Any ideas why, other than common ignorance?
Another question:
Do you think, "When", some middle eastern sickko decide to blow himself up in the USA, we will have difficulty buying reloading , materials?
Thanks for your answers and thoughts.

Texas Shooter, I shot the BPCR matches for 4-5 years; Graham, OKC. Ft. Chadbourne, Raton & once at Mexia. I laid off the matches for a year but am starting back up June 12 & 13th, 2 day match @ OKC. For the matches I shoot a Sharps 40/65.
My first Sharps was a 50/90 that I used for hunting. Still have it but had a 40/90 Sharps built for hunting also. I really like that cartridge for hunting.
Cast all my own bullets & stuff all my own cases. Have met alot of nice folks.
I'm in the process of moving from Lake Texoma back to Dallas this weekend.

Sharpsman:
For starting load developement, I was going to start with:
Goex FFg for 45-70
Goex Fg for 45-110
From what I have read here and in loading books, this will get me going.
Goex Cartridge Powder? Not sure if to be used it for these applications.
Thanks for your information.

Texas Shooter, I was north of Pottsboro, in Tanglewood. Next to Highport Marina. Had a log home there.
I have a good acquaintance there just west of Gordonville. He has a nice 300 yard range set up there. He also has a piece of water there that I've used to drop ducks & a goose or two. Did you know Bob Friese from Gordonville? He passed away some years back. He built me a nice Sharps 45/100.

El Kabong:
I've only had the place for a little over a year, so there is nothing elaberate.......yet. I've spent the last year getting the place set up for a Wildlife Management Tax exemption.
This year I'm going to try and put in the range. I good friend is an NRA range inspecter (I think that is right) anyway he can officially qualify it safe, so I can register it in Austin. By doing so, I hope to have it officially recognized and "Grandfathered" so it would be very difficult to get rid of if the area is ever annexed by the city. It has to be done correctly, but once done, I hope to enjoy it for years to come.
Do you like "Cartridge" better than FFg?
Hope this helps.
