Given the fact that any given bullet lands with the possibility of being high or low by 1/2->1 MOA, given the grouping ability of a load, the potential error in the shooter's hold and sight picture, slight changes in wind direction or velocity, and the potential error in the spotter's seeing the hit, I don't believe there is a nickel's worth of difference, whether you use MOA or points... Just too many uncontrolled or partially-controlled variables to argue over which is more precise or precise enough. If we were shooting F Class it might be different...

Clarence, it won't matter enough to worry about in mid-match, but for someone putting together drop tables or guestimating their first 1000 yds shot from a 100 or 200 yd zero, yeah, it matters some. Roundoff error is cumulative and can be fatal at times.

For those seeking to get sight settings through the ranges this 19thC table may assist. Use the difference column information to work out approximate adjustment from your known sight setting(s).
