I use the same amount of Swiss 1.5 and a PJ 530 grain Creedmoor for about 1225-50 fps I was told. It's the best load for that bullet but I have not run it through the screens. Guess I need to chronograph the load.

Why,

To better stabilize my .446 PP money bullet at long range. So far my 25# rifle with the 16 twist works quite well.

I am not sure about the weight, as heavy as possible, 13-14 # I hope.

kenny,
for shooting the mile the 1:16 twist will be your friend.
if it won"t shoot at 1 mile it will not be the fault of the twist.
i must confess i was surprised to see you go to something other than the 2 7?8" case.
if your new gun is in fact a 2.6", you will come close to the performance of the bigger one if you need to by using a shorter wadstack and seating the bullet less in the case.
some project like this is always to be looked forward to, not so much the new gun, but getting a new chambering going.
are you having a pp chamber with a low transition angle, or a modern one?
bruce.

Modern chamber, no need to fix what ain’t broken, Right? Sorry I don’t buy into all the leade stuff. .446 bullet thin paper seems to do just fine. Bumped up swedged down then bumped up to groove diameter chambers isn’t my idea of accuracy.

Ain’t seen one of them beat my world record group at Raton, or win Gold either for that matter, until they show up at matches and beat my ass on a regular basis, won’t see me changing my mind.

The 2.6 is due to Brass availability, and starline makes good stuff, I got 15 months but right now I am thinking 2.6.

I will see what my 40-90BN in 1/14 twist with a 32 inch heavy round barrel does as well. It should be fun. 45-2.6 brass can be used as well. Merry Christmas! - Mike

Kenny, glad to hear you've finally come to your senses and are getting a 2.6". Just kiddin'! Good luck with your new rifle. Merry Christmas.
