I think it depends mostly on whether shooting patched or greasers. Patched I find the cutting oil water works best, greasers the Mpo7 sure seems to hold a decided advantage, especially when you look at the scores that those known to be using the bore wipers and MPRO7 are shooting.

That I couldn't tell you for sure , other than it's the stuff Buffalo Arms sells in the gallon jugs. But I believe most of them I have observed are using the clear stuff.

M-pro cleaner and it's yellow. At least that's the stuff that I use.

MPRO7, is this used diluted like cutting oil or do you just run it straight as purchased? Seems like you would need a hell of a lot of it for bore pigs if running straight?

Dave suggested the Mpro-7 to me and I have used it when at Raton.
It is ridiculously expensive back home so I just use the cutting oil or Ballistol and water here.

I use the MPro7 cleaner with my Buffalo Arms bore wipes. I do not dilute it. I have gone thru 4 gallons in the last two years. The price I have paid for it is a VERY small fraction of what I have spent participating in this hobby....

Has anyone experienced any problems with the M-Pro 7 Cleaner attacking the stock finish?

I've been using it for several years and haven't noticed any effect. I generally don't have the bore wipers so wet that they are dripping on everything though. At the end of the day, the rifle cleans up well and the stock wipes down with no noticeable issues.

I also have not seen any ill effects on the stocks.
I have the felts pretty well saturated, but never dripping.

I would get 50, if you use them all in one string, so be it, if not then you have some for the next relay. I use the 10-1 water/oil mix seems to work just fine. I found last yr that I need to up my felts to 2, after the long 15rd strings, I was pushing 2 pigs thru due to fouling being left in the barrel.

In my opinion MPro7 works better.

Next is GM 50/50 antifreeze.

While I do have a package of BACO bore pigs, my brief subject is in regards to bore wiping but using patches, not bore pigs.

For those using a water/Ballistol mixture what ratio is it?

I have a Delrin wiping rod. 2 1/2” square patches are challenging. There is no “spear” on the end of the rod and sometimes the patch moves around the end of the rod as it moves down the barrel and gets “pinched” at the end of the muzzle, requiring the rod to be tapped backwards with another cleaning rod to loose it up. However, 2” dia. round patches behave OK. The barrel is .40 caliber.

I think I want to change to round patches but 2” seems a bit small based on wiping resistance. Would 2 1/4” be “better”?
