Although I’ve lived in MN all my life, WY or MT are my favorite states. True the liberal envy driven socialist party that dominates our state should be enough to send me packing, it’s the people in those other two states that should be all I need to depart liberalville.

Started when I was 12-years old. Our Boy Scout troop went to the World Jamboree in Colorado Springs, summer of 1960. You had to have the rank of first class and work on a troop paper drive for the year before the event, which paid for the trip. We took the train from St.Paul up through ND, participated in a parade in Minot. Arrived at Glacier and they put us on some school buses for a day long tour of the park. Back on the train, south to Yellowstone. Another day on a bus tour. Then 10-days at “ tent city” in Colorado Springs. Met a lot of kids from around the world. Can still remember that trip.

Since then I’ve been to Glacier 6-times and Yellowstone 11-times. Prefer Glacier.

If I could talk “you know who” into moving, I’d end up in either state with an “everything on one level” rambler, a yard maybe 100-yards wide and 500 + meters deep. Why? So I could set-up NRA steel silhouette targets and step out into the back yard and shoot! Do that in between getting to know neighbors and the nearest town.

I agree with Dad, stop at the Montana club all you can!! super good food and good beer's!! Also if you want to have a very pretty drive, head south out of Missoula to Lolo, Hwy12, turn right and just drive until you get tired of looking at Mountains!! Its a twisty river road and gets very scenic the further you go! South of Salmon, down to Challis there is a old gold dredge....The Yankee Fork Dredge, its kinda neat to see it up close and there is a couple ghost towns there as well.

Just be carful...its still winter up in the mtns, and you can get in a pickle real quick!!

We are excited!! The trip will probably be in June , if I remember my match dates correctly. This forum is working flawlessly today and I appreciate all the input,. I'll do a rough itinerary tomorrow for Montana and then Lander Wyoming !! !!

"Wheat Montana" for cinnamon rolls. In fact, I'd hit the one in Three Forks, then have more in Missoula.

When I lived in Missoula in the 90's spent most of my free time down in the Bitterroot Valley. Lolo and south there are a lot of little interesting towns and beautiful mountains. Plenty of hiking and fishing. Loved the area between Florence and Stevensville and Bass Peak.
