I would have thought anticlockwise as the bullet is pushing against a clockwise rifling.
but hey, what do I know

The torque will always be opposite the the twist (rotation) same as in a engine clockwise rotation counter clockwise torque reaction has something do do with a fella named Newton.

My videos of a straight stocked .45-110 being fired by a newbie agree with that :)

Didn't Newton once say "for every action there is an opposite reaction?"

If you have a right hand twist barrel the rifle will twist the same way. That will be away from your check if you are a right handed shooter. I've shot my rifle with 3 people watching for 3 shots. One standing behind me, the other two standing beside me. Everyone was in agreement the rifle twisted to the right. I have another rifle with a left hand gain twist barrel, it does twist against your check for a right hand shooter. If you don't believe me I'll let you shoot it with 83 grs. of Swiss 1.5. Can't help what Newton said, proof is in the firing of the rifle. The test with 3 people watching was how I decided to order a left hand twist barrel.

My .50-2.5 with it's lefthand twist hits me in the jaw if I don't hold a tight grip with a 700 gr bullet

The bullet follows the twist, so does the torque.

When you step on the gas you go forward, not backwards. that’s torque boys.

So what your saying is imparting a clockwise spin on the bullet will impart a clockwise reaction on the barrel. Not sure how to reply to that.

Good luck with that.

Next time you boys clean your rifles try holding the cleaning rod from turning and pull the rifle back over it and see which way the gun rotates.
A light bulb may come on....
or not.
Kenny when a dragster steps on the gas the front end goes up not down.
That's torque, boy.

So when you give it gas, your car runs backwards?
