Best weight Bullet

Post by stevenjay1 »

I have a 45/70 with a 1 in 20 twist barrel. The bore is .457. In others experience, what is the best bullet weight for this twist?

Thanks for your imput. Steve

There is another list going called 'Barrel Twist' you should look at. It discusses the Greenhill formula and other such points that can answer your question. You will see that bullet weight is not the best criteria for best performance. Enjoy!!

S J1 ! You should be able to use most of the bullet weights listed to 540gr ! What bullet your barrel likes is a different story ! JAGG
