Re: Midway has BR2
I needed some Forster Lock Rings as well so got free shipping. Ordered some primers as well. They've been selling on Gun Broker for over 300 bucks for a thousand so I'll pay the $132.

Re: Midway has BR2
I still have 400 primers left from this $8.03 per 1000 and have to start using the yellow box CCI's for busting bowling pins. It Looks like Larry is joining the scalpers. I learned my lesson after the last shortage.

Re: Midway has BR2
Nope Kurt,
I’m not joining the Scalpers. Unlike yourself, I’m new to this BPCR hobby/addiction. I’m still waiting for my letter for my Shiloh 1874 which is a retirement present to myself. I’ve never gotten into reloading prior to now so I never had a chance to purchase all that is required at the “Good Ole Days” pricing that you took advantage of.
I’ve got 300 new Starline 45-70 cases, 35 # of Swiss 1.5F, and with this order I just placed with Midway will give me 2000 BR2’s. I’m not trying to take advantage of anyone, just trying to get started out to get in the game.
It’s been 20 months since I placed my down payment down so hopefully I’ll be hearing something soon from Shiloh.
Being an FNG in this sport I just have to live with how things are now. So instead of paying the “Scalpers” pricing on Gun Brokers, I’ll gladly give Midway my money.
Cheers,
Larry

I think he meant Larry Potterfield that owns Midway and wasn't calling you a scalper.

Re: Midway has BR2
FWIW,
MSRP for CCI- BR2 is now at 599.99/5000. That is $120/1000.
( The New Normal????) And wholesale houses I deal with are out of stock on all primers.
Only way to get them is to get on a back order and many will not even take back orders.
So Larry/ Midway is only bumping the price up a bit.

Well Imontee now I know your name is Larry
And I'm not a scalper either or hoarder I do like the critters in my yard. the squirrels and chipmunks have their cheeks bulging with food storing food in the fall for the coming winter.
So far I have given close friends primers to keep them making noise at the range with me.
Larry welcome to the fun.

Re: Midway has BR2
Thanks for the welcome Kurt,
in the past 20 months browsing this website I've found your comments to be very useful. And even think I've seen that same photo in a different post.
And beltfed/Arnie...I realize that's a good price from Midway. That and the rarity of finding primers anyway is why I jumped on it and thanks to ian45662 for posting it. I thought I was on Midways notification list but you got the info out first.
And I will say this for Mr. Potterfield...Midway is limiting sales to 1 per household....you can reorder after 7 days but I doubt there will be any left after a week? So Midway is doing it's part to try and prevent the Horders/Scalpers as well.
Cheers folks,
Larry

Had. That didn’t last long. Unless I’m lousy at using their search function. Which is definitely in the realm of possibility.

Re: Midway has BR2
I was very fortunate about 20 years ago I had made a friend in the Sheriffs Department in Alameda County CA and he was responsible for disposing of reloading components brought in by widows. For years the Sheriffs Dept. was the repository for dead gun cranks leftover reloading supplies brought in by their widows. If a bunch of stuff showed up he would bring it to his Dad’s house who was my Battalion Chief in the F.D. I would take everything evaluate it’s usefulness. One time two wooden crates of primers, Remington and CCI for everything small and large rifle and pistol over 100K of primers. Because I was already a hand loader I’ve always bought more than I thought I would use and stock up on primers that gave good accuracy for the purpose like Fed. GM, CCI BR’s . Since BHO I have made a concerted effort to stock up on those, Fed. GM Match I have not seen in years. You get what you can when the opportunity is there.

Randy, a cousin of mine has a huge auction service in South Central Montana. Last spring a fella brought in 1000's of primers to be offered in 2 different auctions thru the summer. The first one had Federal Gold Medal that sold for $385 a brick!!
