I just heard, but notice the * attached to the subject, that a firm in Tenn. is starting up to make nothing but primers.

OK. I heard this from a shooter's wife, that HE just got the news. and he is an avid shooter.

So, has anyone else heard about this and is there any truth to it?

According to a recent thread on Lever Guns, Lone Star Ammunition Plant is gearing up to make primers. For some reason, I cannot access the below link to the news article:

Good news.
Even if they focus on SR for the 'spray & pray' crowd it should free up some production elsewhere for the primers we use.

I use SR in my 204 and 22 Hornet, both bolt actions.

I do a lot of shooting with bolt action and semi auto rifles using 223 and 222 cases. I don't need to do any praying when using either. I usually hit what I'm shooting at due to superb accuracy from both and lots of inexpensive practice with both. Mb

Ha !!
I got enthused about dragging my Marlin CLs out this winter and doing some shooting . 218 Bee, 25-20 and 32-20.

Since I was down to a little over 1000 small rifle primers I was glad when Shiptons in Billings had a shelf full of BR-4s. Only could afford one $110.00 brick.

So far, I've shot 3 32-20 rounds. At this rate I may run out by the year 2525 and will need to restock.
No spray and pray here either. ( Unfortunately)

2 bolts, 222 and 22 hornet, 1885 22 hornet, and a 223 sprayer for the running 200 yd coyote shots

But no shortage of sr primers here, probably around 12 bricks bought at a closing sale. Couldn't walk by the rack when they went below $5

Hey, I still have a couple bricks of them too. :D
I got rid of the SP-1 didn't like the black plastic stock and triangle forearm but kept the heavy barreled .222 Rem 700 ADL. :D

My SR primer going off.
Too bad we didn't give the Ukrainians several hundred of these to make it a fairer fight (should it happen). After all, by far the largest tank battles ever took place in that part of the world. Smooth barrel 120mm cannon.
