C-H 4D Die Problem

Post by Todd Birch »

I was expanding the necks of a new batch of .43 Spanish brass with my C-H 4D expander die when the expander plug came off the threaded plug holder.

I've tried to call them but get an unintelligible recorded message with options that make no sense to me.

Any one got suggestions as to how to keep this thing in place? I expected to find a set screw but it appears to be a press fit.

I just called them today and got the office manager. Actually they are
located just down the road from where I live. I would try calling them again. Anytime I have had a problem they have been great about fixing it.

C-H 4D Die Problem

Post by Todd Birch »

Hey RC

Buffalo Arms gave me a ph.# for C-H with a different area code.

I have emailed, phoned and faxed them re: the problem. I'm awaiting a response.

Todd.

Some of my RCBS dies did that.Clean the threads with a degreaser and get some red lock tight and screw them together tight.
To get then appart you might have to heat the plug to break the lock tight.

Hey Lead Pot

I heard back from C-H 4D and they told me that it might have missed the Loc-Tite treatment at the factory.
In the meantime, I bought some.

They offered to send me a new part. They stand behind their products.

I had a small problem once also with my set of CH4 dies and they got it fixed right away. Good people to work with.
