I'm planning to book a hunt hopefully as early as this winter if possible. I would appreciate any recommendations that you may have regarding reputable outfitters. A fair chase hunt is mandatory, positives and negatives about your hunt will be valuable.
Many Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Buffalo hunt recommendations
I just finished up a hunt with LaMonte Buffalo in New Mexico.
It is conducted on a private ranch, the Rancho de Chavez near Madrid, NM.
The buff are managed and some are imported, but there is no high fence, no corrals or supplemental feeding, and no interior fences
The hunt was assisted by the use of atv's, but horses are an option, and a foot stalk is always the end game.
Still definitely fair chase imo.
Lead man Monte and his guides and skinners were first rate. They all enjoyed the fact that I was shooting an iron sighted Sharps.
We had a great time, and I would recommend this outfit without reservation.

In a similar boat and would like recommendations for fair chase and if possible horseback stalking/transport.
