Portable shooting bench legs

Post by kwilliams »

Any sources that offer a 2 leg folding front and a folding 1 leg rear in the range of 30 in. tall. I retired my old bench that had the wobbly (4) legs, needing to make something that is stable on rough ground.
thanks

Look for an MTM High-low shooting table. Have one, works great.

Looked at the MTM, the table area is way to small for all the stuff I need on a bench. Bore pigs and tray, ammo, patches, front rest, cleaning cradle etc. would leave no room for the shooter.

I think a fella could make a nice portable shooting bench by gluing and screwing two pieces of 3/4" plywood together, add some 1 1/2" angle iron on the underside to strengthen it (if need be), sand the corners round, put a couple layers of clear-coat on it, install three 1" galvanized screw-in legs with their mounts/receivers screwed to the underneath side. I made a portable rockchuck-shooting bench using three layers of 3/4" plywood years ago. I canted its legs out ten degrees. It's heavy, but it's STABLE. I screwed a handle on the underneath-side to carry it out into the field. It's my field Sharps-shooting bench now. I can put all I need to shoot with, plus my spotting scope, on top. It works for me. Just take a comfortable seat with you.
