Availability of 50-90 brass?

Post by filmhog »

I purchased a 50-90 Shiloh #1 a year ago and have been watching for 50-90 brass. How often does Starline make a run of this? Emails to Starline remain unanswered. I've been searching the usual purchase forums and no luck. Thoughts on acquiring some brass?

Try calling vendors and inquire as to their back orders.this i find better than email.
Be cautious of ebay and etsy sellers.
There are scammers about.

Guess that means I’m not much of an eBay buyer, huh?

Put in a back order with Starline, then stand by to stand by.

50-90 was one of the last BPCR brass cases that SL listed as available about a year ago. I ordered 1,000 and got 500. They haven't had any since I placed that order. I would look at Rocky Mountain Cartridge or Bertram. Expect to pay $5.00 to $10 per case from these outfits. Others are saying they have bought 45-70 from Starline but I haven't been able to buy 45-70 from them since the George Floyd riots. I was lucky to score 500, 10 year old bagged Winchester 45-70 cases just yesterday. Persistence pays off.

What about Rocky Mountain cartridge? Yeah at $8.45 a piece … woof. But still it’s available and always will be as long as they are in business. Just a thought to give you enough brass to get you shooting until star line makes another run. I’m about to order a sharps but I’m really having a hard time deciding which chambering because of brass availability. Was really set on 44/77 now I’m not so sure. Won’t even begin to talk about primers or dies…

Tom when you order and pay your deposit your buying your production spot in line. You can change about anything on your rifle until you get your letter and it enters production. Bobw
