Need .0015" Paper

Please tell the brand, lb weight or source that I can get a true .0015" thick paper for my bullets. I would like 8 1/2 x 11" sheets over a roll if possible. My old ream of rag paper is used up.

Rag paper is sold based on their GSM (grams per square meter)

Ok I knew I was opening a can of worms on this posting. None of the sources posted specify how thick the paper actually is, (that I can see) and I want a accurate measurement done with a real micrometer not a 6" caliper. I don't want to order a bunch of it and it comes in at .002" of which I have a vintage ream of. Someone must have ordered recently and has verified a source that provides a consistent .0015".

Finding thin paper in sheets is getting tough.
I use Southworth 409 DRN. 29D and typewriter and typewriter copy paper that is .0015" the other two is .0017 and .0018" but this is all discontinued. You might stop at paper stores in college towns, this is where I find mine and it's usually on the shelves in the basement getting dusty.
I also found some Canson paper at Walmart that is .0017". I don't like to use paper that two wraps that dont measure groove depth.
If you use paper like paper mill that runs from .0015-.0019" thick depending where you check with your mic just get a push through die made that will iron it out to the diameter you want.
You don't need 100% cotton to work good.

I will check the sources you mentioned. I shoot DD PP bullets so that rules out the push through die. I will have to leave a Mic in the truck and start checking the stores. A role of .0015 paper would be fine if that's all I can get. I hate to start ordering paper and it comes in all wrong. Using the philosophy of fat bullet and thin paper.

I have one of those micrometers with anvils that are tipped with a 1/2” diameter pad for measuring things like paper or rubber. I zero it out and measure my Seth Cole 55W and it’s about .0015-.0016. Maybe the mikes not calibrated correctly, I don’t know - it’s a digital electronic one - I prefer the ones that are manual with the tenth reading vernier scale on the thimble. When I use my Starrett with the tenth reading scale I think it’s too easy to squish the paper - anyway, I get the above measurements with the digital paper Mike. I get my Seth Cole 55W from Dew Drafting Supplies. It comes in rolls but I think they sell in 8-1/2 x 11” as well.

For what it’s worth,

As mentioned the 55W Seth Cole is very close to what you’re looking for and is what I use.
The 55Y comes in about .0003 thinner so roughly.0012-.0013.

I use the Seth Cole 55w exclusively.

As for sizing a dual diameter bullet I have a Lee push through sizer at .4575 that just sizes the major diameter I drop the wrapped bullet in nose first the push it through by hand trues up the base paper nicely. It works and rather well I may add. Past two years at Alliance and my match also.

Thanks Patchbox and Kenny, A validation of the 55w-y thickness is exactly what I was looking for. Yes I did borrow a line from the PP tome "fat bullet and thin paper" and it does work.

With a standard Shiloh chamber in a 45 caliber rifle, is a DD bullet really necessary to improve accuracy with PP bullets? I'm thinking of an older DD thread where Kenny achieved less than 1 MOA vertical with his DD bullet at 200 yards with 5-shot groups. So Kenny, have you achieved that accuracy with straight-sided PP bullets patched to .4575 in the standard Shiloh chamber? I'm looking for a good comparison.

Not to start a brawl, but wouldn't a tight chamber for PP be desirable unless one wants to retain the option to shoot GG bullets as well?
