50-70 Brass
I was wondering if anyone knew how long it is between Starline runs of 50-70 Brass. I'd love to purchase an origional Remington Rolling Block chambered in this but not if the brass is like hen's teeth.

Re: 50-70 Brass
Maybe it will be cheaper if the brass is not available.
You can always find some somewhere with a bit of searching.

If you have a bunch of brass to trim down like 50-90 to 70 this little machine makes quick work of it.

I havent found a case trimmer that works as well as that little saw does. Just make a wood block to butt the rim against and make the cut. All cases will be the same length in a short time from the front of the rim. All of those rings you see took less than a hour from setup to finish.

Re: 50-70 Brass
I've used one of the HF mini chop saws for rough cutting cases for years! Love it, and the little blade seems to hold up great for cutting brass.craneman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 7:55 am If you have a bunch of brass to trim down like 50-90 to 70 this little machine makes quick work of it.

I had issues finding a trimmer that would do my larger .50-140 3.25" cases, as my Lyman wouldn't accept the rim diameter, or length. I ended up finding a brand new obsolete Lyman Universal trimmer that works in a drill press and it works great, and is extremely fast! Just install the trimmer in the chuck, and clamp the base to the drill press. Set the depth stop, and it does a case in seconds!

Re: 50-70 Brass
I looked into the Forster, but having so much Lyman parts for my inline trimmer, I opted to just buy the Universal drill press trimmer instead. It was NOS and only $50, so I could use all my Lyman parts on it too. I've had my old Lyman with universal shell holder and powder adapter for decades, so might as well stay with it.
I did have to retire my trusty old RCBS Rockchucker press though, as it wasn't big enough to accept the .50-3.25 shells and loaded cartridges! I had to move up to the RC Supreme to handle them.

Mm93 regular rc will work for 3.25 " as long as hand seat your bullets like ppb's but your right if using greasers. These days about everything gets loaded on my Ammomaster. That press and the Big Max are the tits for sure..mb
