Did that..wrong thread pattern. He got some mops that are the size of a 28 bore but with 8-32 threads.

Midway or Browells, "USUALLY", have the 8/32 thread for .45 pistol or 44/45 rifle, cotton. If it is cotton it can be washed in soap and water and air dried. If wool, less desirable, warm (not hot) water and Woolite, scrub with bristle brush, rinse well, air dry. Do not subject wool anything to hot anything.

wash the mop. I have several of Bryan's mops that I have used for years. Put in water bottle with a drop of dawn and warm water, shake and rinse off the mops(s) and let air dry. Works for me. OR....... PM Bryan and have him send you a new, or several, more mops.

I bought some bore tips from Dewey to try. Have not had a chance to try them yet and I got one of their pistol cleaning rods to use with them to dry the chamber on my SS 1874 .45-90.
