This event again reaffirmed that the results with these rifles depends heavily on the shooter. As much as pulling the trigger, if not more so, as in load development. Just how much the barometric pressure, alignment of the planets or phases of the moon figures in to it is subject to conjecture. No, I intentionally did not mention Coriolis effect.

Today was a perfect example of that. Plus being able to recognize a little difference when chambering a load. Especially PP Loads.
Took 5 shells out just before sundown to give my 45-90 another try while we had a break in the weather.

I'm taking the brass I had shot once before and devoted to this rifle, and shooting it in these matches and then trying to prep them afterward to all be the same. So the brass is shot as is. Also, I'm just using up some of my spare unknown alloy bullets so they may not all be identical.

Hopefully once I get thru the brass this time they will all be uniform.

Shot #1 chambered good and shot felt good.
Shot #2 chambered good was called low
Shot #3 chambered good and shot felt good.
Shot #4 chambered a little tighter. If I would have had an extra shell, I would have pulled it to see why but shot it anyway to see what would happen.
Shot #5 chambered good and shot felt good.

This load/gun is showing lots of potential. Not sure about the loader/shooter.
One of these days hope to get it to shoot 1 moa groups on demand, not just occasional flukes.

Seems like whenever I've had to use a camming tool the shot would go high. Don't know what caused that since I run my patched bullets through a Lee sizing die. All of same alloy.

Wondering if the shell was just a little larger at the mouth. Perhaps causing it to exit the barrel at a slightly different point in the vibration cycle.

Going to start chambering all my brass before seating the bullet. And if I get another one will take it to see where it impacts.

If it doesn't show up before the bullet is seated, it may be an issue with the Paper and better off rejected until a different patched bullet can be inserted.

Seeing out of state and Canadian license plates (all Alberta) in these parts lately. South Dakota, Colorado, Oklahoma, Montana, Minnesota, Alaska, Wyoming, Utah, New Hampshire, Washington, one Kansas

Texas and New Mexico I don't count. Rarely see a Florida or Delaware plate.

Since this gun is showing so much promise, I think I will use it to try to figure out that random flyer issue so many of you GG advocates seems to have had that you could never figure out the cause of. But that may be futile if I never get another "flyer" with this load !!

Seems like whenever I've had to use a camming tool the shot would go high. Don't know what caused that since I run my patched bullets through a Lee sizing die. All of same alloy.

You may be on to something Mike, altho these were just the opposite. None chambered hard, but had two shells in the second group that seated the bullet hard.

wanted to get thru the rest of the brass one more time before I loaded for next weeks long range match.
Gonna see if I can get it to perform there.

First two groups were shot without an underpowder wad.
Group on the right was my first and probably a poor hold. buckled down a little on the second

next two groups had an underpowder wad.
I had two cases that were real hard to get the bullet in as the case ws a little tight, so I put them at the end of each 5 shot string to se if I could see a difference.
Definitely a big difference on the elevation especially the group on the left. Had a .25moa vertical going til that shot.

think I'll stick with the underpowder wads.
