Is the .50/70 inherently accurate?

I have collected trapdoor Springfield rifles since the ‘80’s and have been loading black powder loads for them since the then. I’ve noticed the .50/70 versions seem to be consistently easier to get to shoot well, even with less than stellar bores. What are y’all’s experiences with the .50/70 in other guns? Is the caliber really forgiving or is it a coincidence?

Dave Higginbotham thought so.

My Shiloh .50-70 will consistently print sub moa at 100 yards no problem. At 200 yards about a 2" group with barrel sights. One of my favorite calibers.

It seems really well balanced, I wonder how the accuracy of the .50/90 stacks up generally speaking.
