Inspired, I went back to the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum today.
They had a .52 Sharps there, with the fattest, heaviest full octo barrel I ever saw.
No weight was listed on the card, but the barrel radius was way over two inches.
Makes me wonder what Kirk's special order twenty-five pound barrel measures

WOW a 2" radius would mean a 4" bbl. Where were the trunions mounted on this cannon?

Probably had some wagon wheels on an axle mounted to the forearm... cuz that sucker would be a cannon!

If the diameter was 'bout 4" or so, this could have been a special or re-barreled into match rifle configuration?
Some slug guns had/have exteremely heavy barrels & can weigh 40#....

correction...I had said radius, but I ment to say the diameter was over 2".
