One Shot...One Kill

Post by Dang Long Shot »

Well, I finally had an opportunity to go hunt a few days up at my lease in South west Georgia openning week of modern gun.
I just had to try out my brand new 520 grain FN .438" Steve Brooks Paper Patched bullets. That doe didn't go thirty yards before falling over deader than a door nail.
It hit so hard I heard the whump of the slug when it hit. The mephlat was .25"...quite a sledge hammer when driven from my Shiloh "Hartford" 30" heavy barrel backed by 70 grains of compressed Goex Express FFg and a 1/8" grease cookie.
I can't wait to try them out on a nice large buck at Thank Giving.

Great job! Sure is comforting to hear that WOP after your shot ain't it?

Good stuff right there.

Glad you got something hunting. Guess that's a good excuse why you have not answered my P.M.
