In 1872, university trained Frank Mayer arrived in the Texas Pandhandle and got himself outfitted to hunt buffalo. He bought an 11 pound, .40/90 Sharps rifle with a 32" barrel from Col. Richard I. Dodge and fitted it with a full length 20X German scope. When he was 100 years old, Mayer told his story to Charles B. Roth, who published this book in 1958, four years after Mayer died in Fairplay, Colorado at the age of 104. Soft cover, 6X9 format with 96 pages. Illustrated.
