Drovel 50-140
There is a drovel 50-140 in decent shape for sale. The barrel has no mark or stamp just the receiver and it say drovel ny. Any ideas on what this gun is worth?

It could be worth about as much as the gun I'm holding, or so.

Myself I'm more curious what the throat and leade look like. They sure went down the wrong path in the early years with overbored freebore. Bobw

Re: Drovel 50-140
I am getting some pics. The store got it as a 45-110 I told him I didn't think so. Next day went back and did some measurements turns out as a 50-140. It does have some powder residue so I know it's been shot but the furniture and finish is very nice, this thing has one hell of a barrel. It has to be 2" hex. Everything operates just like my sharps and the only stamp on the entire gun is the drovel tool mfg from farm ny on the receiver.I was originally thinking 1200.00 -1500 for it but I cant find anything on this gun. The serial number is d 1xxx.

Drovel Sharps barrels were marked so I’m confident that this heavy barrel is a replacement. The long throat chambers came about from C Sharps involvement with Shiloh.

James thanks I was thinking along the same line. I think i am going to pass on it to be honest. I know I could reload it but I went through this with a 40.70 Wolfgang bottleneck. Luckily Bobw was there to help out. My fear is getting it home and it has some strange chamber issues.
Thanks guys for the help.

Is the barrel one that you could set back an inch or two?
I think your price estimate is high. A .50-140 is not a very marketable gun in my opinion. If you got it for under $1k and then set it back to become a .50-70?

Here is a little Shiloh history. Maybe Len Mule had more to do with that rifle........

Nice but my shoulder immediadetly bruised and started bleeding when the crescent butt registered in my brain . Where kurt at he likes those abominations. It's definitely a collector piece in the history of modern Sharps style reproductions. Still what do they want for it? I can help anyone with loading for it if they end up with it. Bobw

The panel on the left side of the wrist is surprising to me. The photo angle distorts the shapes of the fore end, barrel, and butt that I can't make much of them.
