Grocery shopping
Dinner for tomorrow night.
Yeah, it's not a Sharps, but the spirit was there... Should have used the blackpowder .22 rounds that I have, but they weren't handy.

Since my nut trees are starting to bare nuts the squirrel population has grown in my yard. If those critters weren't so hard to skin I just might have some for supper too
They got my chest nuts and hazel nuts this fall. I guess the Deer helped them too.

Fine looking dinner Brent. That IS a slick way to skin one too. Much easier than what I used to do.
THAT is THE one thing I miss most about living in Wis. I loved squirrel hunting. More than any other type of hunting. Either a .22 rifle or pistol. Actually the only time I shot a pistol a lot. I could spend days in the woods

Well that is a fine picture and makes me miss the small game of my Michigan farm woodlot. Good ole fox squirrels are hard to beat.
Nice picture with the Ballard, one of my favorite action types for single shot cartridges.
Nothing quite so nice as a wooded hillside on a warm fall day with squirrel in the neighborhood.
I notice they are all head shot as well, nice going! MD

Well, I think I would take a low wall with a kicker spring over the Ballard - darn hard to pick out the empties on this one anyway. And NOT warm. Cold, and really windy. Felt much colder than the thermometer suggested.

That's just what I'm making up Brent for my next project with the exception of the kicker spring which my gun is set up for but thought I would leave it out, now you got me thinking!
Who needs to pick out spent .22 hulls any way in a target rifle. I don't save them. Hummm. This is worthy of a rethink, me thinks!
You need to keep your eyes peeled for a Winder action already to go for .22 RF. MD

Speaking of squirrel rifles, mine is being built as we speak. Do ya'll remember these pic's from a couple years ago?
The barrel will be #3 full oct, the flat spring action has a single set trigger.
And the wood is just some str8 grain walnut with some collor and stripes.
Brent, it won't have near the character of your original. Nice rifle u got there.
Best, David B
