Not had a problem with springs. Just insure it is pulled into battery after each shot.

TNX. Guys, sure is a pain to make adjustments shooting under cover on overcast days with a big glass and flashlight in your mouth to make adjustments

The spring on the MVA Winchester mounts works fine and hold the scope tight to the adjustments. One does have to bring it back to battery after each shot though. That’s not speculation as was offered in a previous post.
That from years of use,
Oh and multiple Scope National Titles. One needs to adjust bs and bias filters on this forum.

Jeanne the spring on my B-5 tends to get slightly off center unhooked sometimes and it changes the elevation.
Kenny,
Yes all the scope I have MVA and DZ need to be pulled back into battery. I'm sure everyone that uses these scope without a recoil spring knows this.

Yup Kenny, I tend to use my Estwing 3 pound drilling hammer more than my 13 oz Estwing finishing hammer.

Kurt, the current BPCR National Champion, Ian Egbert, has put DZ mounts on his MVA scope. He has a Facebook group, Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Silhouette. Might message him about it. I think he ran into a problem and had to send it to DZ to get it done. He is also a member of this forum.

I know that it will work. I switched the mounts on the A scope last night.

Re: MVA "B" scope.
I have old eyes, and under the shooting roof at my range I have trouble seeing the marks on sights or scope, even with glasses on. I bought one of those cheap Harbor Freight lighted visors to keep with my shooting box. I grab it and turn on the light, flip down the magnifier lens and can make adjustments while keeping my hands free. Don't need it out in the sun where our long range shooting positions are. Just under that roof on cloudy days.

Re: MVA "B" scope.
The last shoot in September at Alma MI I even had a problem with the Unertl mount seeing it. If I just have to make a couple points of change it's no problem but when I have to make a couple hundred yard change I need more light even with the Unertl mount. I tore the retina in both eyes and lost of my center vision last June while shooting at the Quigley and looking at this computer screen that black spot is a problem in both eyes.
I will look at the Harbor Freight site and see what they look like. Right now I have a small keychain light that is working.

Re: MVA "B" scope.
When I removed the rear mount from my DZ I jacked up the cross hair. I should have removed the mount from the other direction. I still need to call Dan and make arrangements to have it fixed. I never did actually try the mva mounts. Maybe I should put them back on and actually try them but I do really really like the DZ mounts.Jeanne Ring wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 6:11 pm Kurt, the current BPCR National Champion, Ian Egbert, has put DZ mounts on his MVA scope.
