Has anyone else had issues with certain brands of .22 lr ammo and getting the breech to close when using a Crossno liner? The rim thickness is the problem. Specifically CCI lead-free .22 LR.
Being "behind enemy lines" here in California, I only have to use this garbage ammo when hunting-- and I thought it would be fun to kill some tree squirrels with my 1874 Sharps. The regular .22 lead ammo I have, seems to chamber just fine.
I was wondering if Norma lead free .22 LR has a thinner rim?
Yeah, I know... move to another State.

Re: crossno liners
The Crossno liners have a match chamber and I have to use a tool to seat lead rounds. The driving bands on the bullet are engraved by the rifling same as a target rifle such as a Winchester 52. The lead free 22lr has bullets made of copper or zinc, much harder than lead and would be extremely difficult to seat into a Crossno chamber. Rim thickness spec for 22lr are the same lead or lead free.

Re: crossno liners
I've never had a problem with Norma TAC or the Norma Competition ammo in my crossno liners they shoot very well indeed. But then so does std vel Fed blue box. Mb
