Quigley question

Post by Crazy Horse »

Do the Quigley rifle have "Quigley" on the barrel? I have a Hartford on order made up like a Quigley with everything except sights and gold initials.

Quigley on Barrel

Post by don marable »

Crazy Horse:

The Quigley Rifle does not have Quigley on the rifle. In front of the rear barrel sight is the inscription "Shiloh-Sharps 1874." Behind the rear sight is "Calibre 45 2 7/8."

As are all Shilohs, it's a great rifle and a real tribute to "old world craftsmanship." I know you will enjoy the Hartford.

old world craftsmanship

I meant "old world craftsmanship" as a compliment. Hell, I even thot America was part of the old world, or was it added in recent history. That's what I thot.

Have a nice day,

"Old world craftmanship" was brought into this country by the European immigrants a century or two back. It is hard to spot any more, you have to know what to look for. You can find a good example of it at Shiloh Sharps however....it appears that their craftsmen aspire to old world traditions & standards. I don't expect a union steward gets to visit there.
It needs to stay that way.
