I got my official tabulations from the National Championships, and find the listings of what people are using fascinating. I'll only list the top two in each catagory. There were 358 shooters in the Iron Sight match.

Among the top 10 shooters 2 used .45-70 (1st & 6th). Four used .40-65 (2nd, 4th, 7th, and 9th). Two used .45-90s (3rd & 10th). One used a .38-50 (5th) and one used a .38-55 (8th).

Among the top 10 shooters there were two CPA Stevens (1st & 9th), one Browning High Wall (2nd), three Winchester High Walls (3rd, 6th, and 7th), one Shiloh (4th), one Remington/Hepburn (5th), one Miller "Farrow" (8th) and one Meacham High Wall (10th).

None of this proves anything except there were a lot of people there and a lot of fine rifles. Its just what was used.
