Croft Barker Range/Shooting Box

Post by Ray Newman »

Colleagues: has any one constructed or seen the shooting/range box w/ rifle cradle that Croft Barker illustrates on pp. 146, 147, 149 in his book ”Restoring and Shooting the Antique Single Shot Rifle” (Cistern Publishing Company, 2002)?

A Fellow Shooter thinks that it is the cat’s pajamas & would like me to fabricate one for him.

I’d like to have some input pro/con before I commit myself to this project.

Ray, Croft and I have shot several times together and spotted for each other and I've seen his box, I even bought the plans but haven't gotten arount to buildind it yet. His box works good for him, I hope to build one "one of these days". I did build the rifle cradle and bench styx from his plans and they work just fine.
