cleaning Mills belt???

Post by Joe Burr »

I have an original canvas Mills belt, while the dog's head buckle is a nice patina, the canvas is really dirty. Any idea of a safe way to clean these canvas belts?? Thanks.

Joe,

I use warm water, Woolite and a soft used toothbrush on both of mine. I'm assuming the canvas on yours is still reasonably stout and intact.

I would 1st take a soft/medium stiff brush & try to brush out as much as possible of the old dirt & grime, then as Lee said, follow it up w/ Woolite.
