America is becoming more and more dependent on foreign made products and outsourcing the manufacturing of products. It is unfortunate that this generation of children and future generations are not being taught how important it is to keep the manufacturing and production of American-made products going strong. They are being taught and shown that it is okay to outsource work to other countries for a lesser price and that importation is good. Our children do not understand that people are losing their jobs every day and factories are closing due to receiving cheaper items from other countries; that our steel factories and manufacturing plants are slowly diminishing. A country that was the strongest in the world, self-sufficient with its ranching, farmers, and industry is progressively becoming a country more and more dependent on others for our food, clothing, medical supplies, and manufacturing. The question you must ask yourself is, “Where will it end and when will we take back our self-sufficiency and quit teaching our children to be dependent on the government and other countries for survival?”
John Ruskin stated: “The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.” Shiloh Sharps prioritizes quality in its production. The motto is "quality, not quantity," and the company does not outsource for lower prices. Shiloh Sharps products are made in Big Timber, Montana, ensuring they are 100% American-made. Purchasing a Shiloh Sharps rifle, you not only purchase a legendary rifle, but you support the principals of a way of life Americans have fought and died for over generations—self-reliance, pride, and our FREEDOM.
Our company manufactures everything from barrels to the screws used to assemble rifles. We have a vertical barrel drilling machine that began its service in America in 1939 by producing military barrels during World War II. Now, 86 years later, this machine continues to produce high-quality barrels. Shiloh Rifle is the only Company in the world that manufactures parts that can interchange with the original Sharps rifle, and produces everything in-house, including steel castings from its own foundry to the finished product. In 1996, along with our partner Randy Rembold, we established our own foundry, allowing us to cast all parts in-house and maintain high quality control. The foundry was built to complete the process of producing everything internally. Each rifle part is cast from 4140 steel and then processed at our machine shop next door. Building the foundry required 5,000 pounds of steel and six months to cast the first rifle parts that met our standards and customer expectations. Once achieved, our production continued more efficiently.
Shiloh Sharps originally started in 1976 in Farmingdale, New York and then moved to Big Timber, Montana in the mid 80’s. Shiloh Sharps Rifle is a Family/Veteran-owned business and was purchased by the Bryan family in 1991. You will notice the “B” in the serial number, which stands for Bryan. Henry Ford stated: “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” We are known for producing high-quality Sharps Rifles. This company custom builds rifles according to customer specifications and needs. When you purchase a Shiloh Sharps Rifle, customers will carry with them a piece of history and the finest firearm suited for collectors, long-range, competition, and hunting in the world.
